Hi there, i'm Seonaid, another parent on the board now although I imagine we are still way out numbered! I have a 3 month old son and live in Edinburgh, Scotland. Met my husband at university where we were both studying physics (him just physics, me with electronics aswell) We both ended up dropping out, me due to carbon monoxide poisoning and him due to money issues.

I work at a law firm as a marketing/database assistant and my husband works as a telelbooker for a big cab firm. I work days he works nights so we share the childcare equally :-)

Anything else you want to know? I am crap at these intro posts.

p.s. You will have to excuse my sometimes terrible spelling and grammer, I am dyslexic and we were never taught grammer at school and i've never really managed to pick it up.

Looks fine to me. It's readable and you misspelled hardly anything (except "grammar.") ;)

Yes! ANother parent. Maybe we can actually start a discussion now, lol. That's two by my count. *rubs hands together* Now to find a topic. Hmmm...I seemed to have found a flaw in my plan. I have no idea what to discuss. *Goes off to find random topic*

Childfree people often laugh at Breeder Bingo lines, because they're seen to be silly platitudes. But are these genuine reasons people choose to have kids?

I would be interested to hear what parents have to say about their reasons for having kids, if they want to discuss it. (Childfree people get annoyed when people demand reasons for their not having kids, and I would expect similarly of parents. So this is not a demand, merely a polite question which parents are invited to answer, or not, as they please. :-))

My personal feeling is that their reasons are vastly different and much more sensible than Breeder Bingo lines, in which case I have to ask why some people insist on repeating the same mindless lines.

Of course, the premise of my question is probably massively biased. Oh well.
